1. Answer: You go to your own website, login and click on the OptimusTrip of your choice and then follow the prompts.

 

 

2. Answer: You will receive two automated responses immediately informing you that we have received your request and a booking ID. Following that you will receive an email with the name and email address of the agent handling the trip. After the agent processes your booking you will receive an email confirmation indicating the amount in which your credit card has been charged, along with any instructions or information that the specialist feels you need to know immediately.

 

3. Answer: You will be contacted by email as well as US mail. Please add Optimustravel.com and travelchannelusa.com as an approved domain in your spam blocker and/or monitor your spam folder in order to ensure receipt of our emails. Please provide correct and complete home address information upon new member enrollment. Also when registering for an OptimusTrip and in order to assure notification is sent to the proper address. Please update Travel Client Services of any changes to your contact information.

 

4. Answer: You can only book one room or cabin per OptimusTrip membership unless you have more than 2 children under 18 years of age. Then you can book more than one but you must have someone 18 years or older in the second room. You may book as many OptimusTrips in a year as you wish!
 
5. Answer: Your membership covers you plus one guest (spouse, significant other, roommate, friend, etc.) as well as your immediate family. Immediate family is defined as: children 18 and under living at home full time or 25 and under that are full time students and living at home full time.
 
6. Answer: Cruises require that you be 21 years old or older to have your own cabin. If you are not 21, then there must be a person 25 years old or older in that cabin along with you. On land packages you must be 18 years or older. Some Resort may require you to be older.
 
7. Answer: Many hotels and cruise lines have a maximum occupancy of 4 guests per room. If you have more than 4 guests to your party (i.e. 2 adults and 3 children), a second room may be required and both rooms would be booked at the same rate. You may request adjoining rooms however there is no guarantee of the hotel or cruise line being able to accommodate the request.
 
8. Answer: Travel insurance is highly recommended but it is not required. You can purchase travel insurance online from a third party provider.
 
9. Answer: Travel insurance is highly recommended but it is not required. Please read the travel insurance policy carefully to see what emergencies, acts of nature and occurrences are covered under the specific policy.
 
10. Answer: Due to the fact that all of the OptimusTrips are based on double occupancy prices you may be required to pay double the price. However, we can sometimes get a single occupancy rate. You need to contact the Optimus Specialist handling the Optimus Trip to see if that is available.
 
11. Answer: Once our database of members is established you will be able to go online and use the tool we created for you to find a room mate.
 
12. Answer: In many cases children 2 years and under are free. Most of our OptimusTrips will indicate the cost, if any, of children. If you aren't sure after reading the information for the trip on our website, please contact the OptimusTrip Specialist handling the trip.
 
13. Answer: Not always, but contact the OptimusTrip Specialist assigned to that OptimusTrip for details.
 
14. Answer: Canceling an OptimusTrip will incur penalties in most cases. Please review the cancellation policy listed on the first page of your OptimusTrip information policies. The cancellation policy should also have been included in your confirmation email. If you are unclear, please contact your OptimusTrip Specialist.
 
15. Answer: Transfers are not always included. Please read all of the details on your website for the OptimusTrip before you sign up. If transfers are not included in your trip you can book them on your OptimusTravel website or email the travel company for specific instructions.
 
16. Answer: Port taxes and fuel charges are not included in the OptimusTravel price per person. However, we must collect these fees as an additional charge upon payment. You may find the exact amounts for these charges on the specific OptimusTrip on your website. A simple email to the Optimus Specialist will be able to assist you.
 
17. Answer: In some cases you may add 2 days (only) at the front "or" end of the OptimusTrip, based on availability. Consult the OptimusTrip Specialist handling your trip.
 
18. Answer: You will receive a Booking ID upon booking the OptimusTrip. You must save this for reference in printing our documents from the cruise line website. Wait for further instructions from the OptimusTrip Specialist assigned to your trip. Most cruise lines have gone to e documents.
 
19. Answer: When booking a cruise OptimusTrip you normally will receive your luggage tags at the pier once your documents have checked out.
 
20. Answer: When booking a cruise OptimusTrip there are suggested excursions for Optimus Vacation Club members that are at an additional cost but may be discounted from the regular cost. Some cruise lines allow pre-booking of excursions on their website and some do not. You can also book excursions on your website via the travel company.
 
21. Answer: If you have special diet requirement or need wheelchair assistance the OptimusTrip Specialist can make those arrangements for you upon the actual booking of the OptimusTrip.
 
22. Answer: If you are flying to a destination or cruise port, the airlines dictate the amount of luggage that you may check and carry on. The rules are changing due to the rising costs of fuel, so check with your individual carrier prior to departing. Some airlines are already charging $25 for a second checked piece of luggage and as much as $100 for luggage over 50 lbs.
 
23. Answer: For air inclusive OptimusTrips you cannot use miles to upgrade to first class; by doing so you risk the cancellation of the booking altogether by the airline.
 
24. Answer: For air inclusive OptimusTrips you cannot get a discount to fly first class. The Official Travel Company is bound by a contract with a wholesaler for coach seating only, unless otherwise specified.
 
25. Answer: Flight times are subject to change at any time. If you miss your flight, it is your responsibility for making new arrangements and to pay the difference in the cost of the ticket.
 
26. Answer: We prefer to discourage this request due to the group buying power of the travel company and having standard arrangements already committed. If you do want an upgrade however, you will be charged for the difference for the upgrade. You are not allowed to secure it yourself with the resort or cruise line prior to departure or once arriving with the Optimus Vacation Club name or credentials.
 
27. Answer: You cannot go on a cruise after if you are six (6) months pregnant or more.
 
28.Answer: When booking an international OptimusTrip or one that required a valid passport, your name must be the name, which appears on your passport and birth certificate.
 
29. Answer: If you submit an incorrect name or spelling upon booking an OptimusTrip that requires a valid passport you will be charged a fee that is passed on from the resort or cruise line. Changes can incur charges upwards of $100. No name changes are allowed 30 days or less prior to departure.

33. Answer: TCUSA Representatives and IA's are expressly forbidden to conduct or solicit TCUSA business while on an OptimusTrip. You and your guests are bound by the Professional Courtesy Agreement not to discuss any business with non-members while on an OptimusTrip. This specifically includes all employees and staff of the resort, hotel, cruise line, etc. Our Travel Company has negotiated special pricing through relationships with our preferred vendors and any solicitations of fellow guests by TCUSA Representatives risks damaging these relationships. Above all, remember it is a vacation. After the OptimusTrip, you may share your experiences, photos, etc. with whoever you choose.
 
34. Answer: There is a TCUSA representative (OptimusTrip Host) on many of our OptimusTrips and you will be provided their name and room/cabin number in an email or by US mail prior to departure. We do not provide a host on Mini, Sport Packages, Hotel Getaways and Resort Getaways due to the size of the group.
 
35. Answer: There are usually TCUSA group activities scheduled on OptimusTrips. You will be informed by email and/or US mail details of the customary welcome table (not on cruises), meet and greet hour, and a group photo. Please add TRAVELCHANNELUSA.com as an approved domain in your spam blocker and/or monitor your spam folder in order to ensure receipt of our emails. Also, please provide correct and complete home address info upon new member enrollment and when registering for OptimusTrips in order to assure notification is sent to the proper address. It is your responsibility to update Client Services of any changes to your contact information. Unless otherwise specified in the trip details, any excursions or activities are only suggestions and will be at an additional cost to you.
 
36. Answer: If you go through the complete booking process for equal offers by Optimus Travel, print the page and email a copy to optimustrips@optimustravel.com
 
37. Answer: These are designed as 2, 3 or 4 day get-a-ways that will have no agenda, itinerary or OptimusTrip host. However, you will receive an automated OptimusTrip response immediately informing you that we have received your request and a booking ID. Then you will receive an email confirmation indicating the amount in which your credit card has been charged, along with any instructions or information that the specialist feels you need to know immediately.

30-45 days prior to your OptimusTrip you will receive a TCUSA Professional Courtesy Agreement by email with instructions of how to return signed to TCUSA.

30-45 days prior, the OptimusTrip Concierge staff will mail to the address provided upon booking, a detailed and exciting folder of information regarding the OptimusTrip.

 
38. Answer: If air is included, an OptimusTrip host and a local English speaking guide will be involved throughout your trip. The itinerary varies but some meals, sight seeing tours, transfers, trains, charter air from a specified airport are included. A group photo will be taken during the trip. However, due to the nature of being in a group atmosphere most of the trip a welcome table and meet and greet will not be necessary. If the International package does not include air a Welcome Table will be set up on the day of your arrival, no meet and greet will be necessary.
 
39. Answer: Super Mini OptimusTrip is 3 day 2 night week end get-a-way to some of the most popular destinations within the United States. The Members that will go on these trips will live close to the destination and just want to take a couple of days to relax.
 
40. Answer: A Featured Resort Getaway are Resorts you can book when you want to go at an amazing price. Most of the Resorts are International and have a 5 Star rating. These have limited availability and must be booked 14 days in advance minimum.
